I don’t care how successful you were as a solo Realtor, you’re starting from scratch when you go to a team model and you could lose it all.
Growing a real estate team is very expensive. It can be very frustrating. Don’t do it for the money because I think you’ll fail.
Do it because you love leading others. Do it because you want to empower others to grow. Do it because you want to mentor others and help them avoid all the mistakes you made.
It can be very gratifying growing a team. Yes you can leverage your time through others if you have the right culture and right people sitting in right seats on the bus.
When you decide to start a real estate team, you better have some cash reserves because you’re going to have to buy leads and spend money on marketing.
The most important part of having a great team is having the right culture. One bad apple will spoil everything. Trust me we have had to part ways with some great producers over the years, but you can’t put the money before the culture or you’ll take the whole ship down.
The business is getting more and more expensive because of all the third party lead generation companies selling us back our leads.
